How It Works

Each Orbital NFT is fully specified by a set of 7 parameters, which are summarized below.

Radius

The orbital radius, or initial x-coordinate of the orbiter.

Velocity

The initial orbital velocity, directed perpendicular to the radius and expressed as a fraction of the velocity required to sustain circular orbit.

Time

The number of desired iterations of the orbital physics simulation.

Gravity

The force of gravity experienced by the orbiter, represented as an acceleration vector directed from the orbiter's position toward the Sun.

Path

If true, the Orbital NFT will include lines tracing the path of the orbiter between simulated positions.

Additional Parameters

Parameter
Description

Orbiter Size

The size (in pixels) of the orbiter.

Sun Size

The size (in pixels) of the Sun. This is an aesthetic component and does not affect the gravitational force exerted on the orbiter.
